Today is World Water Day. This day is making us focus our attention on the importance of "safe drinking water". Last Friday at Meadowbank we had a huge "rainstorm" our drains and gutters were overflowing. Our water tanks are now full again and we can use the rain water on our gardens instead of using our precious "safe drinking water" from the taps. Leave us a comment if you have any ideas or ways you save precious water.

Wow that was alot of water. The school looked like it could have flooded. Our field looked very deep.
ReplyDeleteAt my house we have a quite a big tank that is under the ground. When it rains the water from our gutters runs into this tank and then we use the water from the tank to water our garden.

That almost looked like a flood! I wouldn't want to have been in all that rain!
ReplyDeleteI have a rain gauge at home and I leave it in the rain so it will catch the rain and then I poor it into my garden. It also shows us how much rain has fallen.

That almost looked like a swimming pool. I could only see a little bit of grass. I wish I was there to see it. But I would like to be under cover.
ReplyDeleteAt home we have a big tank and it is in our garden. When the rain falls and gets collect in it. The tank has a tap and we have a hose connect to it to water all our gardens.

Wow this video is incredible. My class and I are learning about water at the moment so I will ask them to have a look at this and see what they think this week.
